fishing charter rates
Our Rates and Charter info.

Charters: We offer full day Cape Canaveral sport fishing charters (10-12hrs) launching from Port Canaveral, Florida. Our Rates vary from season to season. When Gas is Cheap in Florida we lower them.

Rates: Full Day10-12 hours starts at $650 for up to five anglers or passengers.

Children: Children 9 years of age and older are welcome. Capt.Tim and Capt. Charles are very family oriented. There is nothing more gratifying to the captains than to watch a child catch a fish bigger than they are.

What to Bring: Lunch and snacks for all day, sunglasses, hat, sun block (no spray on), zip lock bags (for filets), drinks. Beer is welcome on the boat, but no hard liquor, please. Rain gear is advised during storm months. Please no jeans with rivets or metal buttons. No black or hard soled shoes. We do not advise wearing open toed sandals.

What is Provided: All of your tackle on this Florida sport fishing charter is provided. We do not give you tackle that we wouldn't proudly use. Reels are Shimano and Penn. Rods are a variety of customs from Shakespeare, Star and others. All tackle is provided as well as ice. Your Florida Saltwater license and federal permits for different species of deep sea fish are handled by the Captain.

Home Port: Our home port is Port Canaveral, Florida. Cape Canaveral is located 45 minutes from Orlando and only 10 minutes from Cocoa beach, Florida. Port Canaveral is one of the safest Ports to launch from on the East coast. The cruise ship basin is an interesting sight when you leave dock. Port Canaveral has a number of huge vessels from Disney to Carnival cruises. It also is home to a variety of naval ships including submarines.

Fishing Techniques: We employ several different fishing techniques. Here is a little of what to expect from each.

Live Baiting: is a quality producer; we deploy flat lines off the riggers or off the stern. We use pogies, and mullet for this application. You never know what is lurking in the deep. This technique is used mostly for Kingfish, Mahi, and Cobia. Hearing a SMOKER king burn drag off your reel is a must in life.

Trolling: is our favorite at certain times of the year. The catching is hot and heavy. This style is definitely very rewarding for quality fish. This trip requires a ride to the Gulf Stream to find Mahi, Wahoo, Kings and Sailfish. This consists of rods being put in a spread and baits to be dragged in our pattern until FISH ONNNNN!.

Bottom Knocking: is where you will see a variety of fish. We keep our baits on the bottom - fishing for Snapper, Grouper, Sea bass, Triggerfish, Amberjack, Cobia, Porgy and more.

Payment Policy: We must receive a deposit or credit card number to hold your reservation. If you cancel prior to 72 hours before launch time there is no charge. Cancellations less than 72 hours may be subject to a $100 charge. If there is a “no show” there will be a $250 charge. If we cancel due to an emergency or bad weather (for your safety), there will be no charge.

It is customary to tip the mate or captain at least 10-15% in the charter industry. We have a simple saying on the Fin Freak, if you're not worn out from landing fish…We do not expect a tip.

Directions: From Orlando - take Hwy 528 East until you reach Port Canaveral. If you are taking I-95 or US 1 - exit onto Hwy 528 East. Take Port Exit for B South Cargo piers Cruise Terninal. Follow Cruise Terminal signs until you reach the first traffic light. Turn Left at light (Flounder St.) and it dead ends onto the docks. Parking is to the right of the docks.

U.S. Coast Guard safety approved. Safety is our #1 concern on the water followed by loading up the fish box!
